The body of the normal star valve is in black sheet metal, or if they are very thick, in FE 360 pipe. The rotor consists of a turned shaft with rubber blades reinforced with appropriate sheet metal. The motorized unit is generally arranged parallel to the rotor and the transmission is by means of transmission chains and pinions.
